Common questions
InSnap says it can’t capture my screen.
On macOS, open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen Recording, enable InSnap, then quit and reopen it — macOS requires a restart of the app after this permission is granted. On Windows, screen capture needs no permission; if a capture comes out blank, make sure the window isn’t protected content (some video players block capture) and that security software isn’t blocking InSnap.
My hotkey doesn’t work or shows a conflict.
Another app is probably using the same combination. Open Settings › Hotkeys in InSnap and choose a different one. By default ⌘1 captures and ⌘2 pins the clipboard; the other actions (record, scrolling capture, history…) have no default — assign your own there. On Windows the same shortcuts use Ctrl instead of ⌘.
The first time I open InSnap, the system blocks it.
On macOS, InSnap is signed and notarized by Apple and opens normally — if you see a warning, make sure the file came from this site. On Windows, if SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway.
I bought Pro but features are still locked.
Open Settings › Account & license, paste the activation code from your purchase email and click Activate — no sign-in needed. If you see “device limit”, pick an old device to replace in the same prompt, or remove it from your license page. Still stuck? Email [email protected] with your order number.
I lost my activation code.
Sign in on the license page and choose “Email me a new activation code” — it’s sent to your account email. Can’t sign in? Email [email protected] from the address you used to purchase.
How do I move Pro to a new computer?
Remove the old device on your license page (sign in with the email you bought with), or pick it to replace in the new computer’s activation prompt, then activate with the same code. A license covers up to 3 devices, on macOS or Windows.
How do I cancel InSnap Cloud?
Use the manage-subscription link in your receipt email, or from Settings › Account & license. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. You can also email [email protected].
How do I delete my account and data?
In Settings › Account & license — or on your account page — choose Delete account. Your account, uploaded files and share links are removed; a Pro license is kept and can be claimed again with its activation code. You can also email [email protected]. See the Privacy Policy.
Can I change the password or expiry of a link I already shared?
Yes — without creating a new link. On your account page, open the file’s share links and choose Set / Change password or Change expiry. You can set a new date, pick a number of days, make it never expire, or remove the password. An expired link works again once you give it a new expiry.
Why couldn’t I create a link for my image?
Uploaded resources are reviewed, and malicious ones are blocked. If you think yours was blocked by mistake, email [email protected] with the time of the upload and we’ll look at it again.
Why does my file say “Under review”?
Its links are paused while we review it. If it turns out to be fine, they start working again automatically. You can still download or delete the file. Write to [email protected] if you have questions.
Can I upload or share adult (NSFW) content?
No. Sexually explicit content, nudity, pornography and any other adult material are prohibited on InSnap Cloud — including on password-protected links. We check uploads automatically and act on reports, and accounts that break this rule are suspended. See the Terms of Service.
How do I report abusive content on a share link?
Use the report link on the shared page, or email [email protected] with the link. We review reports and remove content that violates our Terms.
